2. Geography is the study of the earth and how people live on the earth.
People study geography in five ways.

3. Location… Tells me where something is. I can find locations on a map.
Lines of latitude and longitude help me find exact locations.

4. Place What makes one place different from another?
People, climate, mountains, lakes
make a place special.

5. How do people live in different places?
People change the places where they live to suit their needs.
People use the materials where they live to build houses and make products they need and want.

6. People, products, and ideas move!
Movement
People, products, and ideas move!
Trucks, cars, planes, and trains take people and their things all over.
Computers, telephones, faxes, and mail send ideas around the world and back again.

7. Regions
Regions share something in common like being a part of the country.
Alabama is in the southeastern region of the United States.

8. What I learned:
Geography helps me know about the world where I live. I can find locations on a map,
tell you what is special about a place,
explain how people use what’s around them to make life better,
show you how people, products, and ideas move,
and find the different regions of our country
because I know my geography!!!
