2. ADJECTIVES Which one? How many?/How much?
Adjectives tell about or describe nouns and pronouns.
They are modifiers.
This means they change the image of a noun or pronoun.
They usually answer 4 questions.
What kind?
Which one?
How many?/How much?

Sometimes an adjective comes after the word it modifies.
Examples:

Many words that can stand alone as nouns can also be used as adjectives modifying nouns or pronouns.

A proper adjective is formed from a proper noun. Notice that a proper adjective, like a proper noun, is capitalized. Common adjectives are generally not capitalized.

42. Articles These adjectives are called articles.
The most commonly used adjectives are a, an, and the.
These adjectives are called articles.
A and an are called indefinite articles because they refer to any member of a general group.
A is used before a word beginning with a consonant sound.
An is used before a word beginning with a vowel sound.
Examples: A frog croaked
An orange is a good source of vitamin C.
My cousin Jimmy wears a uniform to school. [Even though u is a vowel, the word uniform begins with a consonant sound.]
This is an honor. [Even though h is a consonant, the word honor begins with a vowel sound. The h is not pronounced.]
