5 PLACE Place – distinct features, physical geography, climate Change is constantly occurring Sometimes change is man made Sometimes change comes from Mother Nature

6 REGION Region – physical and human characteristics are similar Natural Regions – 10 in the world Unique combination of plant and animal life + climate What is a culture region? Sound familiar?

7 MOVEMENT Movement – people, goods, and ideas Migrate – to move from one place to another PULL - Standard of living, employment, education, freedom, peace, safety PUSH – natural barriers, transportation, mother nature

8 HEI HEI – Humans interacted with their own environment Examples… farming, man made dams, mushroom farms Pollution Housing Developments
